Chris Agar is a NYC-based bassist, Musical Director, and producer with roots in Metro Detroit. Although formally trained in the jazz idiom, Chris' skillful musicianship and collaborative approach have allowed him to forge artistic relationships spanning multiple genres.
He co-founded Indie-Rock outfit DDWhite, which performed
on Paste Magazine and Daytrotter. He maintains an
educational YouTube channel called "Made on Tape,"
while also fronting an art-rock project called
Working Flakes. Recently he co-produced
the artist Collin Stanley's successful
debut EP.
He currently operates out of the
Pencil Factory Recording Studio in
Greenpoint, Brooklyn and his home
studio in Queens.
Notable performances include Idina Menzel,
Rob Mounsey, Pretty Woman on Broadway,
and recently the revival of
Little Shop of Horrors.
